February: memorable days and dates in Russia

The day of the defeat of the fascist troops near Stalingrad
February 2, 1943 - the first memorable date of February. This day is marked by the victory of Russian soldiers over the fascists during the Battle of Stalingrad.
German troops planned to seize the south of Russia to take advantage of the resources to help the fascists finally deal with the Russian army. But they did not expect such a removal from the Soviet military. Our soldiers delivered a clear order: under no circumstances to give Stalingrad. And they did it.
The soldiers of the Red Army did not regret themselves, defending the city. They survived for 200 days, which entered the history of the Second World War, as the most bloody. Thanks to this, the aggressor felt the power of the Russian spirit on his skin.

Yalta conference
For two years and two days later, an equally important event was held, which entered the world history as the Yalta (Crimean) conference. 1945 gathered leaders of three states opposing Hitler Germany.
Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin, Winston Churchill, Franklin Roosevelt at the meeting discussed issues related to future global entry in the post-war time. Issues related to the capitulation of the Germans were resolved, the amount of compensation should be clarified, which Germany should pay, as well as the boundaries of Poland.
An important event also happened at the conference: it was decided to create an international organization whose mission will be preserving peace and security between states. For seven days of the meetings between the leaders of the states, a secret agreement was signed, according to which the USSR, after the end of the war, he moves its strength to the Far East, where he fights Japan.
Chuikov Vasily Ivanovich
Another commemorative date of February is the birthday of the famous commandar Chuikov Vasily Ivanovich. He was born in the family of a simple peasant. In adolescence, voluntarily joined the ranks of the Red Army and all her life gave the service of the debris.
During the Great Patriotic War, he showed himself as a competent commander who could infect soldiers with confidence in victory. Thanks to his courage and the ability to command, the 62nd army under his leadership managed to restrain and attack the German invaders at the Borders of Stalingrad.

On this day in 1918, the Council of People's Commissar decided to organize the Red Army, where volunteers from workers and peasants were called. Ushakov Fedor Fedorovich
