Landscaping. Spruce prickly "glauka globoza"

Walls

One of the most popular plants used in landscape design is the prickly spruce "glauka globoza". This plant has been known since 1937, when it was bred by selection from the seeds of prickly spruce. In 1955, the plants first went on sale, after which they became regulars in city parks, gardens and squares.

Spruce "glauka globoza" is widely used for decoration by landscape designers in Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia. It is often a decoration of the central and honorable places of the city - the alleys and parks of Glory. The blue beauty, in contrast, pleases the eye of city dwellers throughout the year, giving the landscapes splendor.

Fir-tree prickly "glauka globoza" - a bonsai, in the first years of life is a plant with a spherical crown. It does not have a well-defined trunk. Only after about 12-15 years does the main shoot appear, which forms the triangular shape of the "glauca globose" spruce, and it changes its spherical appearance to a pyramidal one. If the plant is not cut, then in its entire life it reaches a growth of no more than five meters, has a triangular crown up to three meters wide at the base. However, it is the shape of the ball that is most popular and is most often used in landscape design. This shape is easily achieved, since the prickly spruce "glauka globoza" lends itself perfectly to cutting, for which it is loved by designers.

Considering that the tree grows very slowly, growing by about 8-9 centimeters per year, the shape that was given to it during the shearing will remain for a long time. This plant lives up to 500 years. The needles about one centimeter long are very densely located on the shoots, so the tree not only has an elegant blue color, but is also very fluffy. Elongated cones are formed on the branches, which resemble New Year's decorations and give the spruce additional elegance.

Planting and leaving

Considering that this plant is a great decoration even for small backyards, the prickly spruce "glauka globoza" is always on sale in specialized stores. The tree is not particularly demanding on the soil. The crown of such a decorative Christmas tree does not break under the weight of snow. Spruce is frost-resistant, resistant to city dust, dirt and soot. It is best to purchase seedlings already prepared for planting, but you can also grow a tree yourself by planting seeds. However, there is a possibility that the grown plant will lose its magnificent silvery-blue color - it is preserved in only half of the seedlings grown from seeds. The tree does not require special care and feeding, but it is still recommended to clear the crown of snow in winter in order to avoid the formation of ice on the needles, and also to wash the plant from dust during the summer in order to preserve its decorative blue appearance. Spruce prickly "glauka globoza" can be attacked by pests such as spruce aphid, bark beetle, spruce leafworm. Special means of protection and constant preventive treatment of the plant will help to get rid of them.
