General information

Naturally, the breakdown of the site, self-planting and design of a flower garden in the country is not such a difficult task. However, if there is a need to make changes to the landscape, then it becomes much more complicated. For example, it may be necessary to arrange a decorative reservoir or lay out a cascading lawn in the place where unnecessary and old trees are now growing.

Features of the arrangement

In order to change the landscape at the summer cottage, you can turn to specialists for help. Thus, you will need to pay for the services of a designer. He, in turn, implements the relevant work, among which the following can be distinguished:

It is advisable to use this approach in a new building. Thus, recreation and living areas can be planned in advance. If the dacha already exists, then its alteration does not make sense. It is recommended to redevelop the landscape in stages and make rational use of the available area. It is worth noting that the relief at a particular site has already been outlined by time. At the same time, the issue with reservoirs is also considered resolved. It remains to work with ornamental plants of seasonal or continuous flowering. The ideal option will be considered elements that do not require significant capital investment. It is best to organize flower gardens and flower beds in the country, which will please the owner of the site in accordance with the style and shape of the plants.

Self-arrangement

Beautiful flower beds in the country are considered powerful elements for decorating the site. Thanks to them, the overall composition of the entire territory can be smoothed out. Before making a flower garden in the country, you should get acquainted with the main materials used. Among them are the following:

Any other materials can also be used for these purposes. From this list, you need to select certain compositional elements. They create unique flower beds in the country with their own hands. It is quite possible to independently organize a variety of fantastic compositions. For the layout of styles and forms, various flower garden schemes in the country are used. Thus, the fantasies of the owners of the site can be embodied in reality.

How to arrange a flower garden in the country?

The original composition can be composed of only three types of plants. The flowerbeds are placed in accordance with the wishes of the owners of the site and the landscape. They differ in type:

  1. Islets.
  2. Lawns.
  3. Curb.
  4. Vertical.
  5. Raised.

The flower garden can be of any size.

Conditional classification

The following types can be distinguished:

  1. Monoclumba.
  2. Carpet.
  3. Vertical.
  4. Annular.
  5. Raised.
  6. Irregular.
  7. Chameleon.
  8. Regular.
  9. Traditional.

It is not necessary to list the characteristic features of each species. In this case, their names are very eloquent.

Fundamental rules

When creating flower beds in the country with your own hands, you need to choose the right places for them. Shady and lighted areas must be marked on the plan. This point is very important. Thanks to him, the plants will be selected correctly, as well as optimal conditions for their flowering and development will be created. It is recommended that you adhere to this rule in any case. This is especially true when it comes to creating a continuously blooming composition. She will look beautiful all year round. This composition is also called "flower garden of four seasons".

Features of the selection of plants

To correctly create flower beds in the country with your own hands, you need to know some of the nuances. Composing is the most difficult part of this whole business. The aroma, variety of colors, duration and area of flowering depend on it. In order to independently and without difficulties choose the composition of the flower bed, it is necessary to take into account the characteristics of the plants and their type. First of all, this applies to the following factors:

Flower bed plants

They are represented by the following types:

  1. Biennials.
  2. Annuals.
  3. Perennials.

Among the latter, exotic, cold-resistant and heat-loving plants can be distinguished. The biological characteristics of each flower must also be considered. It is about the compatibility of plants and their need for dry or moist soil, an abundance of light and warmth or moist shade.

In this case, there are no hard and fast rules. However, many will want to independently create unique flower beds in the country with their own hands. To do this, you will need to adhere to certain recommendations. Elements are combined according to some attribute and perform a specific task. These features can be very different. For example, plants are arranged according to the contrast of shapes, colors or flowering time (sequential or parallel). It also depends on the task that the composition should perform. Flower gardens in the country are often set up to decorate an unsuccessful construction or an unattractive place, as well as emphasize the merits of the landscape.

Varieties of compositions

In the process of collecting a flower bed, the type of flower bed must be taken into account. For example, the composition of the vertical type is most often composed of creeping (bindweed, ivy grapes and other liana-like) and climbing plants. In a similar design, they can be arranged in tiers or planted along the outer diameter. For example, in a "candle" there is a transverse band of colors. Such compositions look very original. Illumination can be provided inside the frame. Thus, the plants will look unusual and very beautiful at night.

Components of the composition "candle"

Bindweed

It is an unpretentious perennial plant. It blooms in spring. Planting in a flower bed is carried out by seedlings. It is not recommended to use more than four colors in a composition.

Nasturtium

This flower is an annual. It belongs to climbing plants.

Maiden grapes

It belongs to perennial climbing plants. It has small clusters of blue-black berries. It is considered a medicinal plant. Reproduction takes place using cuttings or shoots. The crimson leaves of this plant look very beautiful.

Common compositions

Those ensembles that are built on the play of colors, sizes and shapes look most advantageous.

Crown

Outwardly, it resembles a royal attribute. Looks impressive due to the variety of shapes.

Pyramid

This form can be presented in 3-5 steps. The latter are smoothed, the upper tier is sharp.

Cascade

This form can also be presented in 3-5 steps. It is characterized by a flat top tier, which looks like a wedding cake.

In the above compositions, the following types of plants can be planted:

Decorative bow

It is a perennial unpretentious plant. Disembarkation is carried out in groups. It is characterized by a variety of forms.

Geranium

It boasts a variety of species and colors: white, gray, burgundy, purple and lilac.

the Rose

It is characterized by abundant flowering. It is great for the lower tier.

Knifonia

It is also a perennial plant. It has arrow-shaped inflorescences. This plant requires abundant watering. Shelter with sawdust is necessary in winter.

Lupine

This plant is quite moody. However, its bloom is incredibly beautiful. Reproduction takes place through cuttings, bushes and seeds.

Zinnia terry

This plant is annual. It should be sown in warm soil. Flowering occurs in autumn and is very abundant.

The flower garden pattern will be distorted during the growth of annual plants. Thus, the contours and boundaries of the flower bed are violated. To keep the lines clean, the border is delimited with plastic tape. Its width should not exceed 20 cm. In this case, the lower edge of the soil deepens to 13 cm. The free upper part creates a side. It will restrain the growth of the annual. Framing is not required for carpet plant species. They need a kind of haircut, with the help of which impeccable shapes will be maintained throughout the season.

Elegant flower beds, decorated with bright flowers, enchant and bewitch, leaving no one indifferent. They attract us with their dazzling beauty and wonderful scent of flowers, spreading for several tens of meters around. Beautiful flower beds at the dacha transform the site, making it more festive. There is nothing difficult in building an original beautiful flower bed with your own hands. Any items can be used to equip a spectacular flower garden. A photo selection of unusual flower beds made by the hands of creative craftsmen will help you to verify this.

In the hands of a creative owner, leaked kitchen utensils and old household equipment will be able to find a second life.

Even plumbing that has served its life can serve as a material for the manufacture of unusual flower beds.

Old bathtubs, cisterns and toilets already serve as an excellent option for planting containers.

To arrange such a flower bed, you need to make a minimum of effort. Paint the exterior of your plumbing with exterior paint, choosing two or three bright colors for your decor. Just a few touches, and the colorful composition will take on a new look, at the sight of which the mood will instantly rise.

If you include imagination, then the idea can be developed by creating a thematic composition that will amaze everyone around you with originality and humor.

Any available material is suitable for creating colorful compositions: old shoes and clothes, leather bags and suitcases, wicker baskets and baskets, paint buckets, barrels, tubs ... Painted in bright colors and planted with plants, they will look very organic on a suburban area.

When composing a composition from miniature flower beds, one should focus on the harmonious combination of its components, so that the result is a holistic picturesque corner

Original flower beds made of rubber tires

One of the most affordable materials for making roomy outdoor flowerpots are car tires. To make a beautiful flower bed, you can simply cut off the side of the tire with a boot knife so that you get an impromptu container into which fertile soil is poured and flower seedlings are planted.

It is enough to connect a little imagination, with a little more effort, and an ordinary car tire turns into a wonderful flower, an elegant vase or even into a fabulous carriage.

Tires of various diameters are suitable for work. But nevertheless, craftsmen most often use R12-R17 tires, choosing products with maximum tread wear for operation. You can always get hold of material convenient for work and creativity in any tire workshop.

You can even create multi-tiered compositions from old wheels, with the help of which unsightly walls of outbuildings and solid fences around the perimeter of the site are successfully decorated

When translating your ideas into practice, do not be afraid to experiment. And then such flowerpots will become a worthy frame, emphasizing the beauty and splendor of the flowers planted in it.

Decorative frame made of wood

After the rejuvenation of the garden, in addition to young shoots, thick branches are often left out of the lot. The zealous owner will always find a use for them.

Cut thick trunks of trees can become a reliable basis for the manufacture of beautiful flower beds that harmoniously fit into the landscape design of the site.

Such flower beds will act as original elements of vertical gardening. Taking up a minimum of space on the site, they successfully decorate unsightly corners in the garden.

When planning to build such a flower bed from a tree, you just need to choose a suitable trunk that can withstand the load that will create pots with flowers attached to it. To increase the strength of the structure, the trunk or thick branch of the cut tree is buried approximately half a meter and, if necessary, concreted. To extend the life of the wooden frame, the surface of the trunk is treated with used engine oil or coated with any compound that prevents wood from rotting.

The flower garden, placed directly in the very trunk of the tree, also looks interesting.

To create a beautiful flowerbed from a log, you just need to remove the bark from the tree trunk and make "pockets" that will serve as containers for fertile soil for planting plants.

Spectacular flower beds from old furniture

Do not rush to throw out old furniture, it will still serve you, acting as an unusual flower garden. Old benches make a great stand for a range of colorful flower pots.

The most beautiful flower beds are obtained precisely from old furniture with carved legs and curly trim.

In order for the old chair to look more like a piece of art, and not unnecessary junk, you have to work hard. But thanks to your efforts, a spectacular composition will appear on the site, which will be a bright decoration of the garden. A flower pot is placed instead of a chair seat. Using climbing plants for landscaping, it is possible to achieve the effect of a "living" structure, in which all supports are picturesquely entwined with flowering lashes, creating a colored carpet.

You can even create a whole floral set in blue tones from old furniture, which, in combination with a green carpet and variegated flowers, will create a stunning effect.

An old chest of drawers gathering dust in the corner of the shed can be easily transformed into an unusual flower bed in just two or three days, which will become a worthy decoration of the front area of the site. The fascinating transformation process will appeal not only to adults, but also to children, for whom it will be one of the best creative games.

The main advantage of such a flower garden is space saving, which is especially important when decorating small garden plots. To arrange a cascading flower garden, drawers of the chest of drawers must be fixed in the open position, so as not inadvertently to spoil the planted plants in the future. The bottom of the boxes is covered with plastic wrap and covered with a layer of fertile soil. To accommodate the top landings, holes are cut in the top of the chest of drawers to fit the size of the containers with flowers.

Such a chest of drawers will add original touches to the decor of the garden and will cause admiration for the guests of the site and a source of pride for its owners.

Making out a flower garden, you can safely experiment, giving free rein to imagination and showing your creativity

Improvised flower beds on wheels

The use of wooden wheelbarrows and carts for decorating an area has long been a classic. They are harmoniously combined with a wicker fence, giving the site a special color. A bicycle is more suitable for decorating a garden in a modern style.

When arranging a flower garden, the bike can be painted in any desired color, or you can leave it, specially preserving the distinct prints of past years

The planter for fresh flowers can be conveniently placed on the front and rear racks, as well as on the bicycle frame, or suspended from the handlebars. A flowerbed bike can be used as an independent display or as part of a house.

The bicycle, leaning against the wall and decorated with elegant flower pots, acts as a hedge that decorates an unattractive wall

According to this principle, it will not be difficult to equip an impromptu flower garden from an obsolete moped or motorcycle.

An old rusty moped, decorated with variegated floral arrangements, looks attractive and unusual

The ideas for creating flower beds are endless. Try it, be creative and create the same masterpieces on your site.

Bright spots of flower beds and flower beds on the site are not only a way to decorate the site. They are great for distracting attention from some problem areas. This, by the way, can also be guided when choosing a place. We will talk further about how to make flower beds and flower beds with our own hands in the country, in the courtyard of a private house. This is not an easy task, of course, but it does not require knowledge of higher mathematics either.

What are

First of all, let's find out what is the difference between flower beds and flower beds. The flowerbed has clear boundaries and shape: a circle, an oval, a square. Most often, it is separated from the rest of the site and raised above it. We most often see this type of landscape design in parks and on the streets.

This is a flower bed. It has a clear, strictly defined shape and geometrically correct arrangement of plants.

A flower garden is any place where plants of any shape are planted. It happens with a fence, and it happens without. The boxes with flowers hanging on the fence or on the wall are a flower garden, plants planted in old galoshes are also, a flower spot on the lawn and a ribbon along the path are all flower beds.

We figured out the terms a little. Now about what they are. They are distinguished primarily by flowering time:

According to the type of planted plants, there are annuals, perennials, and there are mixed ones. In some, only one type of plant is planted. They are called monoclumbas or mono flowers.

Sometimes they are raised, they are also called high, there are multi-tiered. Their device consists of several stages: first of all, the fence is built, then the earth is poured into the finished form and the plants are planted.

That's all with theory, let's move on to practice. We start with where you can make flower beds and flower beds with your own hands.

Where to do

When the yard is spacious, it's just fine. Find the most viewed place and set up a flower garden there. What to do if the entire territory has already been developed, and you want to plant flowers? You can always find a place. For example, near your house, the site is concreted or lined with slabs, stone, etc. At the wall of the house, you can make an excellent raised or even multi-tiered flower bed with your own hands. And there is no need to break the cover. A brick or stone fence is built right on it. It is advisable to put them on the solution, and then cover them from the inside with a waterproofing impregnation (bituminous mastic) so that when watering, water does not flow onto the path. Then you can fill up the soil and plant flowers.

Flower beds are set up along the fences. This is a common way to decorate, for example, a long drive to the house. But this can also be done in different ways. Here, as well as near, a high flowerbed looks better.

A high bed of boards. The building is inexpensive and the view is solid

You can make a flower bed in front of the gate. Street beds must be sturdy. Therefore, for their execution, stone fences are usually used: just in case. If desired, you can make tiered flower beds. They are more difficult to build, but much more attractive than flat ones.

Street multi-level (multi-level) flower bed of complex shape

Even if the yard is surrounded by walls on all sides, and then you can find a place for flowers: Hang on the walls, in pots or in the form of a flowering wall, put up a rack, etc. Do-it-yourself flower beds in the courtyard of a private house can be made from everything and everywhere. It is only important not to be mistaken with the style: it must match the design of all buildings. Some ideas in the photo gallery.

You don't need a lot of space and can be moved. A portable flower garden is convenient

You can make a flower garden in the country near a tree. They already belong to the garden category. Don't want it to be trite? Come up with an interesting fence.

What and how to make a fence

The most common flowerbed fencing is brick, wild stone, boulders. A structure can be made of bricks in a strict "ceremonial" manner. Boulders and wild stone are more intimate, non-standard fences.

Since they have a decent weight, a foundation is often made under a brick or stone fence for a flower bed. Not if one or two rows fit, but if there are four or more rows. If the device goes on a concrete site, you can do without a foundation at all, but if a flower bed is broken on a lawn or soil, then it is advisable to do it.

It is not even necessary to fasten two rows of stone or brick with mortar. They can simply be laid out one on top of the other, covered from the inside and covered with earth. Brick flowerbeds made in this way will have to be corrected often: bricks can "move out" from their place

The first step is to remove the sod on the marked area. If you plan to make a high flower bed, dig a groove around the perimeter, about 20 cm deep, and 5-10 cm wider than the planned fence in width. This ditch is filled with rubble, rammed, spilled with liquid cement-sand mortar. For 1 part of M400 cement, take 4-5 parts of clean sand, mix and pour water until sour cream. Rubble is spilled with this semi-liquid solution. When the concrete sets - you need to wait a few days - you can lay out the border for the flower beds.

How to make a brick or stone border

Do-it-yourself flower beds and flower beds made in a fence of stone and brick are the most expensive in the device, but also the most durable. They will stand for several years without any problems.

Stones or bricks are placed on a cement-sand mortar, similar to the one with which rubble was poured, but thicker. There should not be a lot of mortar between the bricks - 5-8 mm. If you put cobblestones or natural stone, it is easier to first fold them "on dry" by choosing the size, and then transfer them with mortar.

A few ideas on how to arrange stone borders for flower beds and flower beds in the photo gallery below.

This is a curb for a cobblestone flower bed. The technique used is different - a roller is formed from a semi-dry solution, small stones are stuck into it

If you do not need to raise the plantings so much, and you only want to mark the boundaries of the area planted with flowers, but are afraid that if the brick is simply dug in, it will fall, then you can dig a trench, fill it with rubble, and insert flagstone into the rubble (stone sawn on plates , it can be found in the section selling materials for the exterior decoration of the house) or standing to put bricks. Spill liquid cement-sand mortar around the installed elements of the fence. After two or three days, when the concrete has set, you can continue to work: fill up the fertile soil, but you cannot load the curb or step on it for about a month: it takes so much time for it to gain strength.

By the same principle, you can make a do-it-yourself frame for a flower bed from slate or tiles cut into strips. A flower bed can be made of metal or asbestos slate. There are scraps left after installing the roof - use them. Here's what you can get.

Photo of a slate flower bed - such a fence looks good

Made of wood

It is easier to make a fence for a flower bed made of wood: it does not weigh so much. On the other hand, it is less durable. Do-it-yourself flower beds and flower beds from wood can stand for several seasons. Then you will have to restore or alter them. For ceremonial flower beds, it is used very rarely, but in the country or near a private house, a flower garden fenced with a wooden border is original and stylish. Especially if it has something in common with the style of design of buildings on the site.

You can use wood in any form to decorate summer cottages. They make flower beds from boards, small-diameter round timber (small logs), block house (boards, convex on one side, similar to a log) and any other wooden remains. You can even cut a dead tree into chocks, bury / hammer them into the ground, making such an unusual flower bed.

Birch woods - an excellent fence for a flower garden An interesting idea for a high flower bed - a well is made of scraps of logs Two pieces of a block house, installed one on top of the other - and in front of you is already an excellent summer cottage flower bed

How to make a wooden border? Find a small diameter log, cut it into chocks of different lengths and split them in half. You will get blanks, as in the photo on the left. They are laid on a flat surface with the convex side down, one next to the other. They take a flexible thick wire and use staples from a construction stapler or bent studs to attach the wire to the flat side of the pieces of wood. One wire is nailed at the bottom, the other at the top. It turns out a flexible border made of wood, which can be used to enclose a flower garden of any shape (pictured on the right).

So that the wood does not lose its attractiveness and does not rot, it is treated with protective impregnations. They can simultaneously give it color, or they can be colorless. From such pieces of wood collected in a ribbon, you can make flower beds with your own hands of any shape. Dig a shallow groove, slightly wider than your fence, insert a fence for a flower bed there and sprinkle it with earth, tamp it.

From boards and beams

In our country, wood is one of the most inexpensive building materials. Therefore, they build from it a lot and often. They are made of wood and a fence or fence for flower beds. The easiest way is to enclose a flower bed with boards. For support, you will need several bars - not very thick, but wide. Approximately 50 * 150mm and edged board 20mm thick. Choose its width yourself so that several pieces installed on the edge give you the required height.

Soak the wood with protective impregnations, when it dries, you can start working. Support bars are installed first. They can be sharpened at one end and carefully hammered without damaging the upper surface (put a piece of a bar and hit on it), or you can dig a hole about 50 cm deep, install a bar in it, bury and compact the earth around. Bars are installed in increments of 1-1.5 meters, depending on how wide the flower garden will be. The wider and higher it is, the greater the mass will have to be held, therefore supports are more often put.

Boards are nailed to the exposed supports. They can be stuffed from the inside and then the support bars will be visible, or from the outside. In the second option, only a wall of planks will be visible. The joints of the boards should fall on the beams.

Plank beds can be made in a variety of shapes. Even in the form of a pyramid. There are some interesting ideas below.

And this is how to make a flower bed in the form of a pyramid

Made of plastic

There are many types of ready-made fences for flower beds and flower beds made of plastic or plastic. They have special legs that are immersed in the ground along the edge of the planted area.

But we are not talking about them, but about flower beds made of scrap materials. For example, you can make a decent fence for a flower bed out of plastic bottles.

They are selected by displacement and color. This will make the fence look better. Then the necks are cut off at the same level and stuck into the ground. This is one mounting option for creating a low curb. The second will turn out to be much higher. It can be used in fondant taller plants. In this case, they take a wooden bar, to it at a certain distance, so that the bottles are close to one another, the lids are nailed. Bottles are screwed into the caps. To make such a plastic fence for a flower garden more stable, it is pierced through with wire closer to the bottoms and closer to the narrowing point at the neck. The finished section of the fence is installed and fixed on the ground.

Despite the fact that the material is waste, if everything is done carefully, such a fence looks decent, nice, nice. A photo of fences for flower beds and flower beds made of plastic bottles is in the photo below.

Well, he himself would never have thought that an old chest or galoshes, a hat could be turned into a flower garden or a flowerpot for plants. Look for yourself - the photos don't lie.

Flowerbeds of tires

Completely unattractive car tires turn into beautiful flower beds. The tires are cut, the edges are sanded with a grinder with an emery nozzle. The resulting flowerpots are washed with soapy water and dried: the plants will not develop well if the machine oil, gasoline and other similar substances that get inside are not washed.

After drying, they paint it. You can paint the tire (tire) with ordinary oil paint, only the surface must be degreased, dry and clean. It lasts for several years. There are special paints for tires. They are much more expensive - they are made for styling tires. After the paint dries, you can install a finished flower bed from tires and fill it with soil, plant plants. How you can make a flower garden out of tires with your own hands, or rather, how to arrange it, see below (the photo gallery scrolls automatically, if you need to stop, click on the picture).

General principles for creating a charming flower bed

To begin with, we will give the general principles of organizing a flower garden. What should be a do-it-yourself flower bed in the country for novice gardeners? It will certainly come out spectacular if you follow our advice. Plants will be in comfortable conditions, which will affect the appearance of the flower garden. So what to keep in mind:

The flower bed is small and simple, but arouses interest.

Simple and effective flower beds

We will give several examples of simple and effective flower beds with photos that a novice gardener can easily create. We suggest focusing on the color of the flower bed, creating an elegant composition. With your own hands, you can beautifully create even the simplest shape. Each of the proposed options has its own charm, at the same time, the embodiment is quite within the power of a beginner.

Monoclumba is easy to clean, but can get boring with its monotony

The flowerbed looks impressive and solid, on which plants of the same species are placed. Moreover, the budget for this option is quite small. Some gardeners prefer to plant plants of the same type without any fences, arranging a flower garden along the garden path or near the house. Monoclumba looks great in any setting. However, not everyone likes to observe the same type of flowers in their garden day after day, and such a color composition can quickly get bored.

Regular and irregular flower beds

There are regular flower gardens in which the planted plants obey strict geometry, and their flowering dates coincide. Each type of plantation occupies its own section of the area; a noticeable border is visible between them. Irregular flower beds are also called mixborders, in which plants are planted in islands, according to their own preferences. Experienced gardeners try to draw up a planting scheme so that one group of plants begins to bloom after another has faded.

External outlines of the flower bed

It is convenient to work with a flower bed that has a symmetrical shape - round or square. Rectangular or oval can also look pretty impressive.

In those flower beds that have a view around the entire perimeter, the plants are selected in such a way that the largest and highest ones are in the center, and towards the edges of the flower beds they gradually become lower. If a strip of land along the path was used for a flower bed, the plants on it should be low, about 20-45 cm. Along with flowering specimens, ordinary plantings with decorative colorful foliage can be used.

The easiest way is to arrange a round flower bed, and you should choose its size correctly. If the site is small, it will be decorated with a miniature flower garden. If there is a lot of free land, it is better to make the flower bed larger. It is difficult to evaluate a large flower bed in a small area; the advantages of a small flower bed will be lost over a large area. In a small space, a flower bed can be built around a tree by picking flowers that do not require a lot of sun. Astilbes and hosts are a good option.

Several schemes of small flower beds

In order not to make mistakes when drawing up your first flower garden, you should use a ready-made solution. To begin with, it is advisable to draw a diagram of the future flower bed on paper, and plant the plants, referring to the plan. This will make it easier to plant the flower garden and help determine the volume of planting material. We offer schemes in which the principles of creating classic flower beds of a round or oval shape are outlined step by step:

We ensure consistent flowering

When planning a flower bed, the timing of flowering of plants should be taken into account. Ideally, the flower bed should be in bloom for the entire summer season, from April to late autumn. This is not easy to achieve, but it is worth trying. To do this, you need to know the flowering time of the selected plants and create a flower garden based on this information:

  1. Spring. At the very beginning of spring, already in March, white and purple saffron, snowdrops and bright pansies can bloom. In April, bloom of daisies, primrose, tulips, daffodils should be expected. Also in the middle of spring, lungwort, white scilla, liverwort, anemones, muscarine delight the eye with their flowers. In May, you can expect the activity of bulbous plants - tulips continue to bloom, and hyacinths and daffodils revive the most ordinary-looking flower bed. This is the time of lilies of the valley, forget-me-nots, ornamental bows, bathing suits, arabis, alyssium.
  2. Summer. The beginning of summer is marked by peonies, chamomiles, irises, poppies, lilies. Also in June, you can expect flowering carnations, delphiniums, bells, petunias, felicia. They are preparing for the summer blooming of roses, at the beginning of summer they can already give several buds. In July, phloxes, late lilies, dahlias, nasturtiums, cosmeas bloom. Midsummer is the time of daylily, astilba, mattiola. By the end of summer, late chrysanthemums, gladioli, goldenrod, and ornamental sunflower reach their peak flowering. Phlox, dahlias, astilbe and roses are still blooming.
  3. Autumn. Autumn flowers are the most persistent, they keep their spectacular appearance for a long time, sometimes until the first frost. Marigolds, dahlias, asters, late chrysanthemums cheer you up with a fresh look and juicy shades. Daisies, tea roses and pansies bloom again.

We talked about the color scheme of the composition, the timing of flowering, and also mentioned the shape of the flower garden. However, other factors should be taken into account when decorating a flower bed in a country house. When choosing seeds, you need to remember about the quality of the soil, the illumination of the flower bed, and also take into account the height and size of future plants.

The flower bed is "small, but remote", compiled with taste

If you need to pick up undersized flowers, you should pay attention to bulbous species: snowdrops, crocuses, hyacinths. Among perennials, you can take a closer look at carnations, subulate phlox, primroses. Biennials also diversify the flower garden - these are daisies, pansies and small but bright forget-me-nots. If it is decided to plant annuals, purslane, petunia, marigolds are suitable as low plants.

Most of the flower garden is made up of medium-sized plants. Therefore, special requirements are imposed on them in terms of decorativeness. In this case, you can plant iris, peonies, bells, astilbe, chamomile, swing (gypsum). When filling the voids between perennials that have not yet become lush enough, you can plant tall marigolds, salvia, asters. Tall plants for a flower bed are delphinium, unpretentious heliopsis, decorative sunflower, fighter, lupine.

Shade-loving plants feel great near trees, or under the wall of the house. These include different types of host, forget-me-nots, Japanese anemones, sedum, geranium, astilba, primrose, ferns.

It is highly undesirable to buy seeds with a long growing season, as you will have to tinker with them. Seedlings are sown in February - early March and require special conditions for proper growth, one of which is additional lighting.

As you can see, it is not difficult to create a small and simple flower bed with your own hands when the basic rules and principles of organizing a flower garden are known. We have given easy-to-design schemes for creating flower beds. With the right choice of a place for a flower bed, if you do not forget to regularly care for the plants, flowering will continue throughout the warm season.
