Whatever the skeptics who do not like "tanks" and do not understand what the beauty of World of Tanks is, the project is still the most successful session MMO in the genre that was created by this game. And the release of a successful and high-quality game about iron monsters grinding each other on the battlefield on new platforms has always been only a matter of time - and now we finally waited for the release on PlayStation 4.

For me, the console version of WoT, which I played a few years ago on the Xbox 360, helped reopen the whole project. This version felt, looked and operated quite differently from the PC, and the gap was so large that there was a persistent feeling that you were playing some completely new game, albeit with the old name at the start. But the main gaming platform, for which I spend the most time, is now PlayStation 4 for me, so after the announcement of WoT for PS4, I was waiting for this version of a well-known project. And finally he waited.


Sadly, tanks for the PS4 console did not come out with the amount of content that the PC version now indulges us with. But this, of course, is not surprising - launching such a game is difficult, and it is easy to "lose" balance if you transfer everything from one platform to another at once. Because a change in the mechanics of the game itself, a new control scheme, various additional elements and restrictions can affect the gameplay, so it is better to launch players in a somewhat limited build of the project, and then gradually update it to the current version. Which is exactly what happened.

There are 3 sides available for players - the USSR, Germany and the USA. The technique presented in the game is perfectly familiar to gamers and does not cause any questions or difficulties in choosing among the "oldies" who have played before. I chose the United States for myself to get acquainted with this version of the game, because I mainly play for the USSR (and France) on PC, I played with German equipment on the Xbox 360, but the tanks from the USA branch are almost unknown to me, so it turned out to be a perfect combination pleasant (learning a new technique for me) with useful.


There is no point in talking especially directly about technology - if you play or have played World of Tanks, then you understand what exactly awaits you. Visually high-quality and down to the smallest detail recreated models that look "like real" and are played in their own way. With its pros and cons.

But since we are going to talk specifically about the PS4 version, let me make the main article exactly how it differs from the PC version, which seems to have been played by everyone who could.


The hangar is not very convenient in comparison with the PC, because it is much easier and easier to select tanks with the mouse than to scroll through all the equipment with a gamepad. Many filters help to fix this feature, by configuring which you can select exactly the necessary types of equipment and use only them, which already on the 2nd day of the game becomes almost a necessity.

In the console version of World of Tanks, tanks and lines of vehicles are researched in much the same way (they are divided by country and to gain access to new tanks, you first need to accumulate experience for the previous one), but there is one big and serious difference - here we are not examining every detail of the tank separately. using the accumulated experience, opening a new caterpillar or cannon, and we get everything as a set in a set. That is, in fact, we are not examining parts of the tank, but immediately its complete variation. We studied 2-3 sets and saved up for all the tanks that go further along the tree of development - as a result, we got a fully pumped tank for farming and team training. Everything is as usual.


The rest of the functionality is in place. Each tank has a crew that can and should be trained, unlocking new features. You can purchase various equipment for the tank, which increases its effectiveness in battle. On request, camouflage is also purchased along with various cosmetic decorations. So it is allowed to give an individual appearance to the tank.

There are few game modes on PS4 - by and large, we are offered only training against AI, the opportunity to fight in training battles with friends without taking into account experience and repair costs, group battles and the usual single multiplayer in 15x15 format. There is also a small mini-game about tank battles with a top view, but 1-2 matches there are quite enough to be curious or to keep yourself occupied while the game client is updated to the current version, and you are unlikely to play more. The main game mode is much more interesting.


As you understand, the "main mode" here is multiplayer with 15 vs 15 players. The opposing sides will either have to capture the enemy base or occupy a neutral base ... but in fact, 9 out of 10 games ends with the banal destruction of all enemy tanks. The maps are medium-sized, but you won't get lost on them, and I haven't seen a single game that ends on a timer - everything is decided in battle.

There are quite a lot of maps. There are currently 20 basemaps available, 12 of which are available in two different versions. This means that in addition to the standard "daytime" version, these cards also have the ability to play them in the rain, or at night, or even under some other additional conditions. Why is it important? More on this below.


The game also meets 2 additional maps, which are currently only available on the PlayStation 4, but not on the Xbox One. Temporary exclusives, to which you are already beginning to get used to. It is noteworthy that one of them is the largest map in the game called "Scorpion Gulch", with large desert spaces, oases and small houses in villages that are destroyed when a heavy tank flies into them at full speed. The second one is called "Ruinberg" and its name speaks for itself - it is a dilapidated European city in which battles are taking place. Hot battles.

There are also various "tasks" that give different conditions, after completing which we get different bonuses. For example, an extra portion of silver or double experience.


Various events are also held, for example, Girls Und Panzer is going on now and until May, when there is an opportunity to get a unique skin for a tank associated with this famous anime.

As I wrote above, it is important that some maps are available in different weather conditions and with different times of day. The engine of the console version of World of Tanks is not at all the same as in the PC version, and each of the presented maps makes it possible to see this clearly. No, the PC still has excellent textures and draw range, but if you take a look at the tanks burning in the pouring rain, the sky is covered with clouds, the trees bend under the streams of rain, the grass is crumpled by the tank, and heavy drops of water are flowing across the screen ... and all this on the TV screen and without any settings, brakes and problems ... in general, it all looks gorgeous.


It plays very well too. The controls are completely intuitive, there is simply nowhere to get confused, and each tank has a completely different feel. Someone turns slower, someone "heavier" goes uphill, someone on the contrary is so fast that you do not have time to cope with it at speed and fall from the bridge at full speed, sometimes on the head of enemies with various consequences.

The only significant drawback associated with the technical side of the project is that in World of Tanks on PS4, voice chat is enabled by default, and there is no setting to disable it all at once. In every battle, you have to catch that 1-2 Chinese, Spaniards or hysterical children screaming every time their tank gets into another trouble, and turn off their sound. But it only helps until the next game. The option to turn off this happiness, in principle, in general, would definitely not hurt to turn it on.


As for monetization, it is almost completely copied from the PC model - you can buy a premium account, various decorations for a tank, premium vehicles and shells for some tanks. Well, all sorts of unique offers-sets of limited validity are sold, when you can buy some good tank of 4-5 level in full set, and even with some of them there are own achievements of a limited validity period. Didn't do it a week after purchase - and you can say goodbye.

The number of players playing World of Tanks on the PlayStation 4 is constantly growing and increasing, and this already says a lot about the project. If on the first day after the start you still had to wait some time when you enter the game, for example, on a premium tank of level 5 (although also 30 seconds, no more), then today any battle can be found in a couple of seconds. And it's nice to play, you want to fight more and more, battles take place one after another, time flies by ... but what else can you expect from a good game? If you are interested in the World of Tanks theme itself, or if you haven’t played this legalized drug yet, then on PS4 you will be attracted even better than on a PC (especially since it is much more convenient to sit in front of the TV and play with a gamepad, and the graphics look better here thanks to the effects ). If the game is not interesting to you, then the PS4 version will not open new horizons either, because these are all the same well-known "tanks".

Therefore, decide for yourself whether you will play or not. And I still need 20 thousand experience for the skin to farm, you know.

Arcade tank simulator World of Tanks tried to use the advantage of the PlayStation 4 platform as much as possible. Graphics

Game graphics on the console much improved compared to the PC version. The picture on the TV is superb - detail, special effects, crisp texture contours. The game runs without delays or twitching. We noted some features: on the gamepad, you can better feel the nuances of the map landscape, it has become more convenient to adjust the speed of the car. But aiming has become more difficult. The good news is that all players (both you and opponents) find themselves in such conditions. And what at first seemed like a disadvantage turned out to be an interesting feature that brings new intrigue to the game.

Keyboard and Mouse

At the time of this writing, mouse and keyboard support for World of Tanks on PS4 is not possible.

Clans

The game has a clan system. True, so far clans are used to select a partner in battle and communicate ("chat" function). But knowing Wargaming, the clan system will still evolve.

1. To play CoD online, you need a PS Plus subscription, a three-month subscription costs about a thousand rubles. Many players are unhappy with this, but what to do, these are the rules. Here you can argue and bicker for a long time, PC owners will grin, they say, they also pay money for this, PS4 owners will grin - but you do not need to update the system from game to game and face incorrect work. In general, all this can be continued indefinitely. But, most importantly, the developers of WoT and Sony managed to agree, so PS Plus is not needed to play online. This, of course, is a huge plus. It seems to me that WoT may well become a kind of "driver" for PS4 in Russia - firstly, the game is very popular here, and secondly, you can connect the set-top box to the TV, create an account and immediately start playing, without unnecessary expenses. Rather, all spending in WoT is at your discretion.

2. As for the graphics, it took several hours to download and install the "high-resolution textures" - if you start downloading the game before leaving for work, everything will be loaded by the time you arrive. By the way, you can start downloading from your smartphone, don't forget. So, if we talk about graphics, then the PC is ahead, but the game looks very good on a TV with a FullHD screen (in my opinion). Naturally, you don't have to think about drivers and any problems, during the long hours of the game there was not a single crash, not a single stoppage or other problems.


3. The game runs on a European server by default, the network code is fine-tuned - no delays, no lags, I did not notice anything like that. This cannot be said, for example, about CoD: Black Ops 3. Loading the hangar is fast, there are slight delays only in the built-in store. In the game, I may have noticed some twitching, but this is a fraction of a second and does not affect the gameplay.

4. If you have played on PC before, you are tired, you ran to buy a console for the sake of playing WoT, keep in mind - you need to get used to the joystick. And this is not an hour, not two, not a day or even a week. Alas, this is a completely different control system, so it will take a month of training before you can get comfortable with the joystick in WoT. Even I do not always manage to move straight back or turn the tank at a slight angle to the enemy, the slightest movement of the stick - and now the tank is already leaving in the wrong direction. If we talk about WoT, then the most accurate control is in the PC version, then there are consoles, then Blitz - I can't play the latter, because I hate playing with touch screens. I hope I expressed myself as clearly and intelligibly as possible - the control in the PS4 version has its own peculiarities, and this must be taken into account. If you feel like you need to work out, try riding the workout modes.


5. The game has artillery, as I understand it, it is done in a similar way to the PC version: a map opens, select a square, and so on. In fact, artillery is not as terrible as it is painted. On tanks of small levels, you have to constantly watch how many "squares" the enemy has, one hit - and that's it. Starting with HF, this is no longer so important. On the other hand, "art" can be very harmful by critical hits on the tracks when you cannot budge. In general, you yourself probably know everything by tactics - in general, on PS4 you can start playing with artillery and then move on.

6. It seems that WoT for many is a stage already passed, it seems that why do these consoles need an old good PC game - but now WoT, to put it mildly, is incredibly popular. As of January 29, there were 1,400,000 installations of the game, daily on the European server, about 32,000 players online. Obviously, compared to a PC, this is a drop in the ocean, but you should also take into account that around 36 million PS4 consoles have been sold in the world. That is, the results on the attitudes are very interesting, and they, of course, are already different - people are interested in this universe, and this is not at all some fleeting hobby.


7. In the PS4 version, there are two new console-only maps, Scorpion Gulch and Ruinberg. The first one, for me personally, is uncomfortable and strange, there is a hill in the center, on one side there is a desert, on the other side there is a village, I constantly see that the players, as if in thought, are standing and deciding where to go. But "Ruinberg" is a very playful and funny map: railway tracks, avenue, houses, a kind of cake, on the avenue heavy tanks go out on direct fire and click impatient novice players, you can go around the KV from the rear between the houses, in general, it is interesting.



8. As I was told, the prices in the in-game store are different, for example, 1,200 gold costs 376 rubles. As far as I understand, the economy itself is no different from the PC version, for battles you earn experience and silver, for gold you can buy premium, equipment, train your crew more efficiently, transfer experience from other combat vehicles and buy special tanks. You can try not to spend money at all - I did not succeed, and in the first week I imperceptibly spent about three thousand. You can write it off as a hobby.

9. So far, there are only three branches, Russian, German and American, it seems that not all tanks are present. The developers promise in 2016 very, very, very many interesting things - new tanks, new tasks, new maps. I believe that the success of WoT on PS4 could push Wargaming to accelerate work on World of Warships for the console - such work is certainly underway.

Meet by the cover

Despite the fact that the game was released back in January (on Xbox One last summer, but who has a "box" in our country?), I have not come across a single review that briefly and succinctly describes the most significant differences and achievements of the console version. Usually, all attempts, both in the West and in our country, were reduced to conclusions in the spirit of "wow, cool graphics, cool effects" or "what to talk about, everything is the same."

But if you consider the project from the point of view of not a journalist, but a "tanker" who has served in the virtual armored forces for more than four years, it turns out that a neat picture is not even the tip of the iceberg against the background of everything else. And just in case, I will clarify: this publication did not pursue the goal of pouring mud on the PC version of World of Tanks and the developers from Minsk, it just happened like that ...

Why does Lasville Gorge attract large crowds of players? The answer is simple: the local swamps are very beautiful.

And yet it's worth starting with what catches your eye in the first place. The visual part on PS4 is indeed an order of magnitude superior to its older computer counterpart. The game is based on a new engine, all equipment and maps are originally in HD quality, and this has been worked out to the smallest detail: attachments stagger on tanks while driving, grass sways in the wind, buildings collapse beautifully when hit by a projectile.

With a recent update, a bunch of more graphical effects have arrived. During a blizzard, the roof of the armored vehicle is covered with a layer of snow, if you stand and do not move; when driving, sand is poured onto the tracks, grass and snow stick; depending on the weather and the type of soil, the tank becomes dirty or wet. Such little things do not affect the gameplay, but they also make a beautiful game a little atmospheric.

Typical tank appearance on the winter map after update 2.7. But most often you see your car only from behind, so this innovation is unlikely to be very noticeable.

Different weather conditions are another highlight of the PS4 Edition. Snowfall and cloudiness make it difficult to aim the artillery, in particular, the search for enemies by tracers from shots, drops of rain authentically tap on the armor. But most of all, the night battles were impressed: it takes your breath away when the runway is illuminated by searchlights, and on the hills, anti-aircraft guns flood the sky with fire, working out on planes.

After the PC version was transferred to the Wwise sound engine in patch 9.14, the gap relative to the console in this area has narrowed slightly, but the console Tanks are still on top, at least due to the expanded voice acting of the crew. “Concentrate on this square”, “the enemy is exposed”, “we have lost all the artillery”, “the enemy has destroyed all the scouts” - many remarks allow you to orient yourself in battle in time.

Weather conditions complicate the already difficult fate of artocks in this game.

The American employees of Wargaming also paid more attention to the information content than the Belarusian ones. The loading screen of the battle clearly and with illustrations explains how to conduct reconnaissance and lure opponents, why tank with a "diamond", what is the difference between different types of shells. The artillery sight has a timer for the projectile flight time, which in Tanks on PC is still possible only with the help of modifications.

Commendable and combat training. There is a single training mode on PS4, where you can hone shooting against bots in various modes using any technique, and even get money with experience for this. They also did not stint on full-fledged lessons, explaining how to shine and request the support of allies, shoot at moving targets and hit the vulnerable spots of armored vehicles.

In combat training, there is a lesson on the role of light tanks. I'm not sure if this will bear fruit, but this format is still better than nothing.

Only the control is capable of scaring the hardened "tankers" away from the novelty. Steering and shooting with a gamepad is even more convenient if you think from a position of comfort, but you will need more time to aim. There is not enough opportunity to reassign the buttons: there are only a few ready-made layouts to choose from (I think the optimal one is where the driving on the triggers is), but in each of them there are quite illogical decisions.

If you wish, you can connect a keyboard and mouse through the USB ports of the console (a wireless set is ideal): the game perceives them, however, partially. You can control the tank, aim and shoot in the same way as on the PC, but to use consumables, use context commands and change the distance in sniper mode, you still need a gamepad. In general, the solution is not for everybody.

Clinching the Goose on the IS-3 is not a good idea. But we see how effectively tanks explode when destroyed.

The disadvantages of PS Edition are the interface. In battle, there are not enough active "ears" of commands, inscriptions and circles of sight on the mini-map, at least minimalistic markers over allies and enemies, so that they work constantly, and not only when aiming at a target. It is not known why a mini-map in the form of a radar was made, because it is less informative and has no advantages over the classic one.

Navigating the hangar isn't the best either. I have not been able to figure out how to look at the detailed performance characteristics of the modules of "stock" equipment before purchasing it, but I learned about the possibility of buying "golden" shells for silver purely by chance. There is a lack of a quick crew return button and sorting in personal statistics. Indicators of armor, damage, visibility and other things are presented not in numbers, but in the form of never informative strips. But we are pleased with the detailed filter "carousel" of tanks, which will appear on the PC only at 09.15.

Maps, tanks, three barrels

Graphics, sound, control and interface - speaking of the console World of Tanks, everyone is limited to these topics, perceiving the game as a typical port to another platform. We will sink a little deeper in our bathysphere, into the maelstrom of the current problems of the PC version, and by their example we will see how the American studio Wargaming managed to avoid this in its project.

Let's start with the main thing - the balance of technique. About a year ago, Belarusian developers abandoned the introduction of premium tanks with a reduced level of combat, after which they began to sell frank "cacti" like the T-54 of the first sample, STA-2, 59 Patton, M4A1 Revalorise, FV 4202 (P). Their Western colleagues did not repeat these mistakes, and at least the Japanese were released with well-deserved benefits.

Reward ribbons for active actions do not disappear over time, but are neatly stacked to reflect your effectiveness. Why is this not on the PC?

Another sore subject of computer Tanks is the adherents of foul play. Botovody, "teamkillers", trinkets, cheaters and just weirdos with a capital "M" - you will not find them in the PS4 Edition, because here the fire on friendly people is simply disabled, and you cannot take vehicles with a difference of more than two levels into the platoon. These solutions are so elementary that it is absolutely incomprehensible why they have not yet been implemented on the PC.

The closed nature of the platform excludes the possibility of bypassing the rules of the game, which is very important for any project focused on competitive multiplayer. Alas, only all mods fall under the ban, but on the other hand, their absence is not so critical when you realize that everything is on an equal footing.

Gifted personalities are also found on PS4, unleashing the potential of an armored vehicle behind the farthest bushes. It ends predictably.

The Minsk office has long promised to revise the system of skills and abilities of the crew, because there are few useful ones among them, and they swing for a long time. On consoles, this problem has been partially solved: tankers are represented by a single entity, there are no related specialties, and the first five perks are pumped at the same price. You will get a good crew with fighting brotherhood, repairs and disguises after 150 good battles, not 500.

We also solved the problem with the long-suffering "light bulb" of light. On PS4, it works instantly and burns while you stay on enemy radars. But in addition to this, in battle, you receive the notification "detected!" When enemies take you in sight (not a skill, it works by default). Excellent "protection from the fool", because an inexperienced player will immediately betray himself, and a skilled one will aim at the opponent's contour just before the shot.

Medals in this game are awarded for everything. And with a certain skill, even from a hopelessly losing battle, you can get hold of good dividends.

A pleasant surprise awaits those who buy premium tanks to upgrade their crews. There are no restrictions on the class of equipment on consoles, that is, on your IS-6 you can transfer tankers not only from other Soviet heavyweights, but also from middle peasants, light vehicles, anti-tank and conventional self-propelled guns of the same nation without retraining. I have M44 artillerymen riding a heavy M6A2E1 tank, and so far there have been no complaints from them.

A good help in leveling up on PS4 is the daily combat missions. There is a similar thing on the PC, but here it is not implemented so crookedly, because you immediately get an increase in experience or credits, and not personal reserves, which still need to be activated and implemented in subsequent battles. And the conditions themselves are built so that you do not have to sit in the game all evening to collect a portion of the day's cream.

For combat missions, you can also get unique tanks. This German with a unique camouflage will be given to you for only 20 thousand experience on his analogue from the leveling branch.

In World of Tanks, personal cars have been struggling with problematic maps for several years: they are removed from the game, remade beyond recognition, ranked by level, and the creators of the PS4 Edition once again prove that all ingenious is just ... just changing the location of the starting positions ... Are you, too, enraged by the pressures of medium tanks on Fisherman's Bay from the upper base, which cannot be countered in any way? There is no such thing on consoles, because the "respawns" are spread out in the corners, and the map is already played in a completely different way, without any digging of the terrain.

A variety of regimes is another trump card that Minsk has nothing to offer. Many times more cards are used in “oncoming combat” and “assault” competitions, there is also a “team fight” competition, where teams have no bases, and the game is purely for extermination. In this regard, the cards are rarely repeated, and even after two hundred battles I came across layouts that I had never hit before.

Night battles look amazing, it's a pity that this has little effect on the gameplay. But it was possible to beat both the reduction in visibility and the lighting shells.

There are also more maps on PS4. Scorpion Gulch and Pacific Island - console Tank exclusives. The border of the empire will also seem new to you, because on the PC it is available only on the Chinese cluster. Found shelter on the console and old, taken out of the computer version of the location - Port, Komarin, Dragon's Ridge, Severogorsk, South Coast, North-West, Hidden Village, Province.

Some of the battlefields here are still old. The local Siegfried Line lacks a hollow in the center in the middle of the field; in the Yochisan Basin, better known to you as the Sacred Valley, there are no forks in the northwest corner of the map and no driveways from the top to the center; the bases on Erlenberg in standard combat are located in the center, and the teams start on opposite hills.

The largest map of World of Tanks, 1500 by 1500 meters. And, as often happens, two-thirds of its part is simply not used by players.

I will not say that there are absolutely no complaints about the Americans from Wargaming. The aforementioned Scorpion Gorge is probably hated by everyone because of the huge size of the map, and there are questions about the "no bases" mode, because the slow heavy, left alone against the "firefly", in such a situation is doomed to chase it forever. But the cards here are repeated so rarely that the most problematic ones simply do not have time to enrage you.

The social component sags the most on console Tanks. The game does not yet have team and company battles, fortified areas, a global map, "superiority" and "steel hunt" modes. Let all these competitions, to put it mildly, be an amateur, and not interesting to the majority, but for someone it can become a tangible disadvantage, as well as the lack of text chats both in battle and in the hangar.

Let me remind you that World of Tanks is a 15v15 session team game, a kind of Counter-Strike about tanks in Deathmatch mode, only with bases and an original lighting and camouflage system, as well as armor penetration mechanics. And if we talk about the concept itself, the PS4 version does not offer anything new: the same tanks, the same classes and nations, only they are controlled from the gamepad.

But this little thing, you may not believe it, changes EVERYTHING! And it's not about how well you personally handle the sticks and how long you play this game on consoles, it's more about the opponents and their ability to inflict damage. And they will not be able to react to your appearance as quickly as on a PC, it is more difficult for them to calculate the lead and target vulnerable points. Here the game is simply more forgiving.

Many underestimate intelligence officers, but in vain. This battle will end with our victory, because I will be able to shoot enemies in the back, while they are distracted by the allied cords.

This makes significant adjustments to the roleplaying of entire classes of vehicles. Light tanks shine more daringly, as they are very difficult to hit at a distance; artillery is easier, because everyone else spends more time on aiming, and it is not very convenient to move in sniper mode; armored tanks live longer under enemy fire, because it is not so easy to hit them in the turret or hatch.

Auto sight is very popular on consoles. It allows you to target the nearest enemy relative to the direction of your barrel (aiming at the enemy's contour is not necessary, as on the PC), and the color indicator will immediately determine whether it is in a shot or behind an obstacle. Needless to say, what the scourge of "cardboard" tanks is, and how do heavyweights benefit from this?

The capture bar gives out the number of opponents at the base. But few people know that, like on a PC, there is no point in standing there for more than three barrels.

Due to the fact that on PS4 there is no division into regional clusters, you most often play with foreigners, and they have different ideas about the ideal armored vehicle. Here you will not find the dominance of Soviet technology, unlike the samples of German tank building: heels of "Tigers" and a pair of "Panthers" - a familiar picture for a battle of 8 levels. It's a small thing, but it also makes a difference in the game.

And since we are talking about pumping branches, now there are fewer of them in the PS4 Edition than on the PC, but what is more interesting is that, apart from LT, there are no drum tanks on this platform, which have completely broken the balance at ten levels in the neighboring project. I also note that the new modules on the pumped tanks are not installed separately, but in packages, which allows you to avoid cases when you do not have enough carrying capacity.

Buying a new tank is a solemn event. A pretentious flight of the camera, confetti and fireworks from the welding machine sparks are included.

Relatively small online also plays a role. During peak hours, at most 20-25 thousand players gather on the server, which means that the balancer is never overloaded and most often forms the right teams with an equal number of "tops". It is almost impossible to hit the "meat" when 10-12 tanks of the same tier converge in one battle: the + 2-2 balance is observed in most cases.

Another important change: active voice chat for all players on the allied team. In theory, even outside the platoon, you can team up with random fighters, receive operational reports from the fields and give timely advice, but more often than not, the best option for helping teammates is simply not to clog the air. However, this is not the worst way to practice spoken English.

Conclusion

The console version of World of Tanks is almost the "same" Tanks of the 2010 model, when there were no heaps of unnecessary pumping branches, all vehicle classes played an important role in battle, and armor really mattered. Over time, the game will change, and it is not a fact that for the better, but today it is the best simulator of tank battles, surpassing its counterpart on PC in all respects.

To be honest: I don't care about graphics and effects - it's not for me to explain to you why this level will never be in the computer version. It is much more annoying that the American studio not only invented solutions to many of the project's problems, but also successfully implemented them, and in Minsk all this is still at the stage of “distant KTTS”. So don't wait for the grass to turn green in our area, enjoy tank battles on PS4.

Verdict: Americans from Wargaming proved that PC versions of games are not always more beautiful and elaborate than console ones. But whether this is their merit, or the punishment of colleagues from the Minsk office is a completely different story.

Performance

An attempt to conduct detailed testing of 12 video cards and 64 processors in the World of Tanks PS4 Edition was unsuccessful, since we did not find so many different revisions of the Sony game console. The PlayStation does not have a frame rate metering tool, so an eye-to-eye approach was used to find that the game ran smoothly on an average single configuration without any performance issues.

The game does not load very quickly on a standard console hard drive. Replacing the HDD with a high-speed SSD will solve this problem and you will have a few extra seconds to analyze the team lineups and decide where to go on the dropped card. If ten enemies are detected at the same time, light friezes are possible, so shining in the center from the very start is not a good idea.


Once upon a time, PKers were proud of their exclusives, but they began to betray them. Every year more and more projects that were only on the PC are smoothly moving to consoles. After all, you see, lying on the couch in front of the TV is always more pleasant to play than hunched over in front of the monitor, albeit with a mouse in hand.

Company Wargaming decided not to sit back and get involved in the development of consoles. The game is finally out on all next generation consoles. In the beginning it was X-One, but now it's time for the Japanese with their PS4.

At the same time, the developers decided not to port the game, but gave a small department Wargaming from America, the task is for them to create a game from scratch on a new engine in the shortest possible time. They turned out even better than we expected.

The very mechanics of the battle remained intact. Why reinvent the wheel when it already exists and functions well. You just need to adapt it for gamepads. Since there was no port from the PC version, they did everything under the gamepad from the very beginning, as a result, it is very convenient to play, you do not need to get used to for months, as to the same shooters (or the last ones), where dynamics in the battle prevails.

In particular, you don't need to rush into battle: sit in the bushes, move a little from one house to another, look for a position where you don't even need to move, but only control the tower. You get used to all this from the first minutes of the battle. And these battles at the beginning are purely against artificial intelligence.


If you compare graphics then on "soap" consoles: it is raining, the blue sky is overshadowed by clouds, a thunderstorm is heard and visible, and drops are flowing down the screen. Moreover, every blade of grass, bush or tree is able to move from the wind. But on PC unfortunately, this has not yet been delivered in full. As a result, the "soap" wins. Here you are immediately given models of all tanks and all maps with HD textures.

The truth cannot be said about the content: at the start, we have only three available development branches: USSR, Germany and America. On the one hand, this is correct, this game has existed for several years, and if you add everything at once, there will be some problems with the balance. Well, as they say, "Little by little good", and then we'll eat more.


Kart so far in abundance - there are 20 of them, and half of them have different weather conditions. On some it is snowing, on others it is raining, and some just took and turned off the sun. Well, how can it be without exclusivity, naturally temporary, in the form of two maps: a large desert called "Scorpion's Gorge" and the ruined city "Ruinberg".

There is no way you can pass by hangar, about which there are two opinions: some believe that it is very convenient, everything is intuitively clear; and the other, that nothing is clear, it takes time to figure everything out, on a PC it is better, "azaza" ... I join the first camp, I do not see any difficulties in management, although the gamepad is not native to me. Everything in the hangar remained as before. You can take tasks, research a new tank, buy, attach new guns, tracks, a turret to it, but not separately - everything here comes in a set.

You can even bring a penny out of your pocket. Donat has not suffered any changes, as in the good old days, here they are allowed to buy a premium account, gold, change experience, etc.

At the end of my small review, I want to express my respect to the developers. They were given a task, and they completed it with a plus of 5.
