My portfolio includes reports on volunteer activities, photographs from the city hall of honor and certificates of victories in olympiads and competitions held by the university to which I applied. The latter are rated above all other personal achievements. Therefore, it seems to me that it is worth actively participating in all competitions held by the universities that you want to enter. Besides, even if you fail to win, you will still be noticed, and usually at such events they introduce you to the life of the university. If volunteering is close, then you should draw up a personal volunteer book and write down all the events where you have ever participated. It is also imperative to try yourself in the All-Russian Olympiad. I never reached the level of the country, I stayed in the district, so I don't have points for this, but participation did not become superfluous - I gained experience.

When choosing a university, I paid attention to the system for awarding additional points, but I was faced with the fact that universities only write that a portfolio is important, but in fact, points are added only for a certificate with honors and for winning the All-Russian Olympiad. The promise to evaluate the December essay is fulfilled only at the Faculty of Philology... And the meaning we tried to write it? I am disappointed in such “bonuses”: everyone talked about how lucky our graduate was, so many additional points can be received, but only one educational institution really appreciated all the achievements of the applicants.

I hope that next year most universities will join this system for assessing personal results and will not be so stingy with points, which sometimes are really not enough for admission to the desired faculty.

Success in sports

At first, I chose a university, and then I looked for additional points that could help me: I am a European champion, Candidate Master of Sports, a member of the St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region national team in the Kobudo martial arts. My sporting achievements were not highly appreciated everywhere: each university requires its own and gives points in its own way. For example, in one they gave me 10 points, in the other only 3 ... And in the third I was just praised... So you need to think more about the exam.

I think so: in order to get additional points, you will need the base that you have accumulated by the 11th grade. Including, you need to start thinking about a certificate with honors from high school, and achievements in sports are generally forged from the beginning... After all, diplomas and letters do not work very well - you can only hang them on your wall. In the selection committee, few people look at them, unless there is something that is interesting to the university (regional Olympiad, for example). In general, no "bonuses" will help if you sit all the time and do nothing. It was necessary to start thinking earlier, and not on the eve of exams. The idea of ​​an additional award is good, but I think there will be more interest in achievements if universities begin to add points for them several times higher than the current ones.

Participation in Olympiads

Additional points were brought to me by a victory at the municipal stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren in English, participation in its regional stage and in the brown-backed Olympiad in foreign languages ​​on the basis of departmental institutions of the Russian Federation. At St. Petersburg State University they gave me only 1 point, but at the SZIU RANEPA as much as 5. I was not even going to take part in this stage, respectively, and did not prepare for it, because I considered it absolutely pointless. But my teacher at school very much asked me about it, and I could not refuse her. At the Olympiad, I did not expect to win or a prize place: I went only because I didn't want to let the teacher down... I was not worried either before the Olympiad, or while completing tasks, or in the process of waiting for results. I didn’t get hung up on assignments, completed the work quite quickly, although with some I experienced slight difficulties. I counted on a place for 5-7. And what was my surprise when, after the second day of the Olympiad, the teacher called me and congratulated me on the first place!

I have no victories at the regional or final stages, in this regard, I initially did not even count on additional points for the Olympiads and did not consider the possibility of getting them. But nevertheless, I decided that nothing bad would happen if I attach copies of my diplomas and letters to the package of documents for priority educational institutions. As it turned out, this was the right step, because some universities take into account not only certain achievements in the Olympiads, but also the very fact of participation in them... So it was a very pleasant surprise for me, and thanks to these points, the chance for a budget form of education increased.

I believe that participation in the Olympiads gives the graduate an opportunity to try his hand, evaluate his potential and skills, find weaknesses in order to eradicate them in time, and also, in my opinion, the Olympiad gives some emotional relaxation before the upcoming exams. Personally, after several Olympiads learned the algorithm of work, several times visited the environment, which is as close as possible to the examination, so I did not feel anxiety immediately before and during the exam. This is a definite plus. In my opinion, this system has no disadvantages, because the Olympiads give very great privileges when entering a university, this is really an achievement, which, among other things, is assessed as objectively as possible.

I took part in Olympiads and won a lot. I acted purposefully: in the 10th grade I came across the "Higher Test", an Olympiad held by the Higher School of Economics, and, accordingly, taken into account in this university upon admission. Having studied all the pitfalls in the tasks, in the conduct of the Olympiad, with peace of mind I continued to participate in the same Olympiad in the 11th grade for the sake of entering the same university. The competition "Young" helped a lot, which many are afraid of because of the need to complete several creative tasks. Something like this, having passed first the "Young" competition, and then the "VP", I ensured myself peace of mind about the admission campaign. Now the original is already in the direction of the dream, although I simply would not have passed the Unified State Exam, despite the fact that I scored the maximum in Russian.

Olympiads - the only effective way to improve scores, because the guys who have the Olympiad hundred are really helped in the lists by the earned "bonuses" for certificates, TRP and so on. But they have little influence on the position of the guys with average scores. I mean lists of prestigious universities, like Moscow State University and HSE. I don't know anything about the regions or universities weaker.

Of course, you cannot make a master of sports in a year, but it is quite possible to pass the TRP (although here I was too lazy). The portfolio, which my mother told me about since elementary school, was not useful to me, that before the certificate with honors, some incredible people receive it, but my family Olympiads are very useful.

I applied to three universities. Each of them has its own system for recording additional points. Somewhere they give more, somewhere less. In one I was awarded 5 points for a certificate with honors, only All-Russian Olympiads were taken into account (I have no such). In the other - 5 points for a medal and 5 for the Olympiads of the municipal stage. They said that they could not score more than 10 points, that is, if I had other achievements, they would still have awarded a maximum of 10 points. In Ryazan honey, there are only 2 points for a certificate with honors. According to reviews of classmates, in some universities have completely abandoned the accrual of additional points... Has submitted documents to 4 universities. At Moscow University I was given 10 points for 40 hours of volunteer work. In addition, I am the winner of the municipal stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren in English and law. In Ryazan, they could give me 2 points, but they did not have these items on the list, so I did not get anything. In addition, I have a good portfolio: I am a prize-winner of the All-Russian competition "Young Artist", I wrote articles for the All-Russian competition (took 3rd place), but for this in any of the universities did not pay attention... I believe that you need to participate in the Olympiads: even if you do not win, you will gain tremendous experience. I passed the TRP in the Samara region, quite by accident: I went to the "Volga" youth forum, to the "Generation of Good" Smena, where I just talked about our volunteer work. We do not have a shelter, all animals are overexposed. We have more than 350 saved lives on our account. I do this because I really want to help them, not because of some points.

These are the teaching staff, and scientists holding positions in scientific and educational centers and laboratories, these are heads of structural divisions, heads of departments, deans of faculties, directors of higher schools, institutes and vice-rectors.

How will this affect the salaries of the faculty and research staff of the university?

The introduction of a system of key performance indicators is just one of the means of increasing the salaries of our employees. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the system is built in such a way that everyone can reach the threshold value of points for receiving a stimulating bonus to the basic salary, depending on individual inclinations, that is, those who are inclined to scientific work - due to the indicators of scientific activity, one who has an inclination to teach - at the expense of teaching. You can score points cumulatively by performing both scientific and educational activities. Of course, the system of incentive payments for certain types of scientific and methodological work, which has existed at the university for the past three years, has undergone minor modernization in terms of the share and impact of payment for publication in high-quality high-ranking journals. We have introduced a differentiated system of payments for publication in magazines. The publications are divided into three categories according to the level of the normalized impact factor: Top 10, Top 25 and all the rest. Accordingly, a different number of points is assigned for the publication, the amount of incentive payments depends on it, which, unambiguously, will remain.

Currently, the total indicator of the effectiveness of a scientific and pedagogical worker consists of seven indicators characterizing scientific and educational activities. For example, this is the total of an employee's publications, citation in the Top 25 in the relevant subject area, the amount of employee participation in research and development activities; individual indicator of the teaching load; the average USE score of applicants; the amount of extra-budgetary funds attracted to the structural unit where the employee works. All these indicators are transmitted by the relevant services to our Univeris system, in which automatic accounting is carried out. Each employee in his personal account will be able to see the actual value of a particular indicator, how this indicator is translated into points and how many points he scored as a result. Each employee will have the opportunity, in case of disagreement with the factual data provided in his personal account, to ask a question to the relevant service that provided the results. We will answer all questions as soon as possible. To resolve such controversial issues, the university has formed a commission for evaluating the effectiveness of employees, which is headed by me. It includes representatives of the management of scientific and innovative activities, educational and methodological management, the personnel department, and the trade union organization. In fact, it is a collegial body, which, based on objective indicators presented by the relevant structures of the university, will determine the total scores achieved by employees and, accordingly, submit proposals to the rector of the university on the establishment of incentive payments.

But how can you avoid them? In fact, in addition to knowledge, the assessment depends on at least several more factors:

Correct distribution of time and effort: practice in advance and understand what tasks to start with and how much time to spend on each task;
